South Valley’s G95 and G97 teams walked away from this month’s FC Irvine Showcase with top-fight U17 and U15 championship wins! Both teams played great soccer and defeated teams from SoCal Blues, Strikers SC, Avalanche, and Blues Youth SC. Great job girls!!!

Hi SVSC families! If you have a daughter, relative or friend with a birthdate from August 1, 2002, through July 31, 2004, and she is interested in learning to play soccer in a fun and competitive setting, please contact us! We have a few roster spots still available for the upcoming fall league season, and we’d like to have your daughter out to one of our practice sessions to see how she likes one of our teams. South Valley teams cashed in on numerous tournament and spring league championships during May! Our girls’ U9 and girls’ U10 teams each captured decisive championship titles in the Central Coast Spring League’s gaming circuit which was a great accomplishment, defeating teams from Santa Barbara SC, Roadrunners United, Central Cal Blues, CVSC and others. These two teams are coached by Jay Gore (U9) and Troy Lynch (U10), respectively. But the May madness doesn’t stop there! The South Valley U13 girls’ (G98) team, coached by Dominic Othart finished the month with two tournament championships. Competing in the Cali Cup Classic and the Madrid Premier Cup, the G98s went undefeated in eight games, scoring over twenty goals and only giving up four. Over Memorial Day weekend, Lorne Howlett’s U12 (G99) girls’ team swept the Irvine Memorial Classic. They won all four games with shut-outs. Great job South Valley!!

This afternoon, the South Valley G95s (coached by Shelby Klippel) earned a berth into the Cal South National Cup Sweet Sixteen bracket. Next Saturday, they will face Legends FC. Good luck girls!

Three South Valley SC teams advanced to the State Cup Quarter Finals during this winter/spring’s 2012 competitions! That’s an outstanding result and great representation for our club in one of southern California’s most popularly played multi-weekend tournaments. Playing in the Governor’s division, our U10 girls’ team coached by Troy Lynch lost in PKs to the eventual finalist. Our U13 girls’ team (coached by Dominic Othart) and our U14 girls’ team (coached by Jeff Darling/Jason Carter) both played in the President’s division. Each lost by a single goal margin in the Quarter Finals. Great job girls!!
