Lancaster National Soccer Center: South Valley G97, coached by Jason Carter, reached the quarterfinals of the 2013 CalSouth National Cup competition. In the process, they scored 9 goals and only allowed 2 against. They defeated Cresenta Valley, SVC Magic, San Diego United FC, and Barcelona USA along the way. In the semi-finals, they fell 0-1 to Albion SC USA. Great job girls!

South Valley’s U17 girls’ team took first place in the Southern California National Premier League this past weekend. After finishing bracket play on Saturday morning, they advanced to the quarter-final match where they defeated the Carlsbad Elite G95 2-0. On Sunday morning, they defeated Platinum (Inland Empire SURF) G95 2-1 in the semi-finals, and then they met Albion’s G95 team in the finals on Sunday afternoon. The score of the game was 1-1 through regulation and over-time periods! South Valley won the match in PKs, going 9-shooters deep with Goalkeeper, Kate Hamilton, forcing one shot error and making two saves. Nikki Barnes tucked with winning shot past Albion’s out-stretched goalkeeper to claim the victory! The team will now travel to Colorado this summer to compete in the National League’s Championship which includes the first-place finishers from all sixteen US Club Soccer National Leagues. Great job, G95s and coach Shelby Klippel!!

South Valley G99s win Copa Real!

The South Valley G99s took first place in the second flight of the Copa Real this weekend, defeating Real So Cal Blue 1-0 in the finals. The G99s are coached by Lorne Howlett and will be promoting to Coast League Silver for the Fall 2013 season. During the Copa Real, they defeated teams from DMS11, Sherman Oakds Extreme and Real So Cal. In the process, they scored ten goals in four games. Congratulations G99s!

The South Valley G99s, coached by Lorne Howlett, shut out the competition this weekend at the Orange County Tournament of Champions hosted by the FC Blades. In route to their championship, the G99s scored seven goals and had no goals scored against them. That’s a great accomplishment!

South Valley SC had its three high-school-aged girls’ team accepted into college showcase tournaments in San Diego for the Thanksgiving weekend. Two of the three teams came home as tournament winners!

The SVSC G97 team coached by Jeff Darling and by Jason Carter won the top flight of the Nomads Thanksgiving Tournament, tallying an impressive 11 goals scored and only 2 goals against in six matches. Along the way, they defeated CalSouth teams from NHB, FC Man United, and Barcelona USA.

Shelby Klippel’s South Valley G95 team was accepted into the prestigious November Nights College Showcase, a girls-only tournament hosted by the Carlsbad Lightning for the U16 to U18 age-groups. The South Valley G95s won their flight for the second year in a row; and they continue to hold the distinction of being the only team from Bakersfield to have been accepted to compete in November Nights. In their three 2012 matches, our G95s scored 5 goals and only allow 1 goal against. They defeated all of their competitors, which included teams from Santa Clara Sporting, Pride SC (from Colorado), and San Diego SC.
