The South Valley Thunder B03, coached by Artie Lynch, won the Irvine Winter Classic this January in dominating fashion! Not only did the boys win all of their matches, but they out-scored their opponents fifteen goals to two. In the process, South Valley B03 Lynch defeated teams from AC Brea, Greater Long Beach, and FRAM. Great job boys!

On Saturday, Feb 21, we are hosting tryouts for our younger-aged teams. This is for players currently U8 through U14 (birthday range is August 1, 2000, through July 31, 2007.) This is a mandatory event for all South Valley players, and all other players interested in playing on competitive soccer teams are invited to attend!

California South has dominated as of late as the state swept last year’s Region IV and National ODP Championships, and had a team in every finals match today. Cal South claimed six titles on the day, and eight trophies overall, while Utah and Cal North both secured a title to prevent a consecutive sweep.

Cal South G98 put forth a dominant finals performance of their own in a 4-0 win over Washington 98. The defending champs went up 2-0 with two goals from Yasmin Ahooja in the span of seven minutes. South Valley SC’s Reigna Banks and Kennedy Smith added insurance goals in the second half to seal the win.

South Valley’s Reigna Bank and Kristen Amarikwa will travel with the CalSouth G98 team later this spring to Frisco, TX, to compete in the ODP National Championships!

Cameron Baggs has committed to continue her soccer career at Cal Lutheran in the fall of 2015! Cal Lutheran, located in Thousand Oaks, competes in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Cameron is a member of the South Valley G97 team, coached by Jason Carter. She will be a Frontier High School graduate this spring. The head coach from Cal Lutheran was a clinician at our club’s June 2014 College ID camp and began his recruiting process with Cameron as a result. Great job Cameron!

Kristen Amarikwa and Reigna Banks, members of the South Valley G97 team, have been chosen among the final 18 players to represent CalSouth in the US Youth Soccer ODP Region IV Championships that will be held in Phoenix, Arizona, from Jan 8th – 11th . If the Cal South team wins in Phoenix, they will have the opportunity to compete in the ODP National Championships that are held in Frisco, Texas, from February 27th – March 1st .
