South Valley G98 Alvear competed in the Clovis Challenge Cup this weekend, notching a 1-0 win over Visalia United in the Finals match. Along the way, the G98s also defeated FC Clovis and Central Valley Soccer Alliance. This is a great showing for their first competitive soccer tournament!

South Valley G99 Howlett won the NHB Cup this past weekend in Orange County! In four matches, South Valley went undefeated and posted all shut-out matches. The team defeated Davis Rebels, NHB FC, Legends, and Fullerton Rangers in the championship match. Great job girls!!

The triple-digit heat in at Cal Poly Pomona, didn’t stop the SoCal Summer Showcase from delivering some great youth soccer matches as college coaches scouted perspective players. South Valley’s G97 team, coached by Jason Carter, and South Valley’s G95 team, coached by Shelby Klippel, both won their brackets going undefeated against teams from LA Premier FC, Irvine Strikers, Athletico Santa Rosa, Spartans FC, San Diego Soccer Academy, and Carlsbad Lightning. In addition, the G95s were competing in one of the Western College Development Association’s brackets.

South Valley’s G01 and G98 teams coached by Troy Lynch and Jason Carter, respectively, were June’s 2013 SCV Magic Cup Champions! Both teams had impressive showings, winning all of their matches. The G01s defeated teams from Magic, FC Golden State, and Rampage. They scored 20 goals and only let in 4 goals. The G98s were as equally successful, scoring 15 goals and only allowing 3 as they defeated teams from Eclipse, Magic and Pacific Coast SC. Great job girls!

Lancaster National Soccer Center: South Valley G97, coached by Jason Carter, reached the quarterfinals of the 2013 CalSouth National Cup competition. In the process, they scored 9 goals and only allowed 2 against. They defeated Cresenta Valley, SVC Magic, San Diego United FC, and Barcelona USA along the way. In the semi-finals, they fell 0-1 to Albion SC USA. Great job girls!
